An Open Letter to Congresswoman Mary Miller
From Jennifer Todd, Candidate for Congress, IL-15th
Congresswoman Miller,
I’m writing today not as a political opponent, but as a mom, a nurse, and a neighbor who has spent years listening to people who’ve lived through things they never should have had to survive.
Across Illinois’ 15th District, we take care of each other. We show up when our neighbors are hurting. And we expect the people who represent us to do the same. When people in positions of power abuse children, traffic them, or protect those who do, we don’t shrug or look the other way. We demand accountability, no matter a person’s wealth, their connections, or the title in front of their name.
That’s why I’m calling on you to vote to release the full Epstein file.
Not an edited version. Not a partial summary. The full record.
For the survivors of Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse, transparency is one of the few forms of justice still available to them. They’ve endured trauma, disbelief, and a system that repeatedly failed to protect them. Their healing depends, in part, on truth — and on the courage of public officials who are willing to put survivors before the powerful.
But this isn’t only about the survivors, as vital as they are. It’s also about the people of IL-15 and their trust in the person they elected to speak for them. Folks in this district work hard. They don’t get a lot of special favors. And they expect that when corruption reaches the highest levels of American society, their representative will stand on the side of accountability, not secrecy.
Releasing the full file strengthens the voters’ trust that Congress still works for them, not for the wealthy and well-connected.
It also sets a precedent this country badly needs — a precedent for transparency. If Congress forces a full release, it tells the American people that when they demand the truth, they can get it. That matters not only for this moment but for every future corruption case that powerful interests would rather bury.
And it doesn’t stop there. This isn’t just about Epstein. It’s about the larger culture that allowed him — and others like him — to operate for so long. It’s about how money, power, and secrecy intersect in America, and about whether our institutions are strong enough to confront that honestly. A full release fuels a cultural reckoning with elite accountability and the systems that protect the wealthy, while everyday families face consequences for far less.
If handled with courage, this moment can also spark something bigger: a long-term movement for transparency, for survivor-centered reform, and for a Congress that doesn’t hide behind closed doors. More people stepping forward. More demand for honesty. More insistence that structural failure be repaired, not ignored.
Congresswoman, you have spoken often about protecting children. This is one of the clearest opportunities you will ever have to prove you mean it, to the survivors, and to the people who sent you to Washington.
Stand with the survivors. Stand with the truth. Stand with the families in this district who expect their representative to show courage when it counts.
Vote to release the full Epstein file.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Todd
