Jennifer Todd Files Petitions to Run for Congress in Illinois’ 15th District

Grassroots campaign turns in more than double the required signatures
from across the 35-county district

SPRINGFIELD, IL — Jennifer Todd, a nurse, mom, and Democrat running for Congress, officially filed her petitions today to appear on the ballot in Illinois’ 15th Congressional District. Todd submitted nearly 1,400 signatures from registered voters, which is more than double the 583 required to qualify.

“From the very beginning, this campaign has been about listening,” said Todd. “Since January, I’ve been driving across the district meeting people where they are, hearing what really matters to them. Folks want a representative who shows up, listens, and works hard to make life better in our communities.”

The 15th District spans 35 counties and nearly 17,000 square miles of central Illinois — the largest district geographically in Illinois. Todd’s campaign has focused on the issues that matter most to working families, including Medicaid and Medicare, farmers, veterans, and education.

“Turning in more than twice the number of required signatures from over 50% of the district says a lot about the heart and determination of the voters in this district,” Todd said. “I’m proud that our effort reflects the people of this district, hardworking, hopeful, and ready for a change.”

Todd, a second-generation nurse, mom, daughter of a veteran, and union member, is challenging incumbent Mary Miller, whom she says has left the people of Illinois’ 15th District behind.

“People are tired of being used for partisan games,” Todd said. “They want someone who listens and actually gets things done. I’m running to bring responsible, respectful leadership back to Congress and to make sure our government works for the people again.”
