PRESS RELEASE
Jennifer Todd Proves Town Halls are Possible and Popular
One of the things that propelled Jennifer Todd, Democratic Candidate for Congress in Illinois 15, to run for office was the fact that residents were being ignored by the incumbent Representative Mary Miller. Todd has pledged throughout the campaign, and as a representative, to be accessible to voters. She has put those words into deeds through in person meetings with thousands of voters throughout the district’s 35 counties and has now begun DIY Town Halls so that everyone can have their voices heard and their questions answered.
Last week, Todd began answering questions from folks in Illinois 15 on social media in a series of DIY Town Hall meetings. People send in their questions; Todd answers.
Todd said, “Our DIY Town Hall proves something simple: if you want to hear from the people you represent, you can make it happen. No matter the size of the district, it can be done. Mary Miller’s absence from public town halls is a choice.”
Todd believes that the people of IL-15 deserve a representative who shows up, listens to their concerns, answers their questions, and is accountable for the decisions she makes.
Todd continued, “I’m a nurse and a mom. For more than 30 years, I’ve spent my life caring for people, listening to them, and helping them navigate some of their hardest moments. As a nurse, I know trust is earned by showing up, listening, telling the truth, and taking responsibility. Those are the same values I will bring to Congress. That’s the kind of representative I intend to be. You deserve to be heard, and you deserve a representative you can trust.
